Look what I got :)

I have never worked on a doily before.  I just am not the kind of person who has crochet stuff around my house.  It is all stored in my bin or given away/sold.  I also don't have the patience to work on so much detail and need instant gratification in my projects.  But I recently entered a giveaway and this is what I won... a Rose Budding Hearts Doily Pattern.  Oh isn't it beautiful? Now I just skimmed over the directions and oh my do I have my work cut out for me, but it would be ultimate challenge to get this done.  Still very lovely.

I also forgot to show you guys some pictures that I got back from my photographer friend.  Here is one with a tie I made.

And another one with the hat...

How cute.  This is what makes me make more stuff for her.  I love seeing all the little angels in them.  You see I made and sold a lot of hats during the winter season, but never saw anyone wearing them.  They would always get picked up and that would be it.  I often wondered how satisfied the customers were.  Now I see my things being used and I can proudly said that I made them :)  And while we are on this topic, I wanted to show you one of my favorite hats that I have ever made.  It was an order placed by one of my son's teachers, who "saw all the kids walking around in the cool hats, and just had to get one for her niece. "  It was one of the more detailed requests, listing what she wanted, size, and color combinations.  She wanted a Unicorn.  I have never made a Unicorn hat before, so I looked around at what was out there.  I looked at unicorns and horses (because as far as I am concerned a unicorn is a horse with a horn), and this is what I came up with.

The only thing I wasn't very happy about was the horn.  I really wanted to make it with some sparkle, but unfortunately could not find any yarn I liked.  But I love it just the same, and the lady who ordered it liked it so much she gave my son a big hug, which he did not appreciate much LOL (he's a 13 year old and being hugged by a teacher is just not cool)

Just to finish off I wanted to post my new project that I just finished.  Something I have wanted to make for a while, and of course something that will be going to my photographer friend.  Hope you like it.

I made this using a free pattern you can find here, with just a few adjustments.  First of all I thought that the wrong side looked much better than the right side.  I loved the texture of it and decided to use it as my right side, when I switched to color to brown.  But when I looked at it with the brown, I loved the other side better.  It had the brown line on the green and I loved that.  I then decided that I would use this side as the right side.  And then I started stitching it up and found that I could just make it double sided.  And I love how it turned out.  Very pretty.  Hope Jen likes it too :)

What will I do with all the yarn

Okay, I knew that this moment will come... I did.  But somehow I now that the time is upon me I am freaking out a bit.  I just found out that Jay might be coming back sometime next week and I last time he was here he said - Is that 6 bins of yarn downstairs?  Yes.  That was 6 bins of yarn, on top of all the other yarn that I have everywhere throughout the house.   Well that was before I made all the great purchases.  Now I have even more, and I better start doing something with it to make it look like less... even if it means stashing it away somewhere out of sight LOL.  You see the only problem is that if I hide it I won't have access to it for a while.  He will probably be here for a month.  What to do, what to do? LOL

But then I did get some more patterns tested last night.  I was putting it off and then totally forgot about it :(  Not a good thing.  Then I had to get them both done quickly, and that was when I was ready for bed.  I did get them done, pictures and all and sent back with corrections last night, and even got to test another pattern for her today.  Got that one done and out of the way already though.  Here are pictures of my latest creations.

Here is another one of the Watermelon Hat Pattern by Crochet Creations by Ashley .  I used curly cues instead of braids I like how it turned out.  Will be giving this to my photographer friend.  It is newborn size.

This is a new pattern I was testing.  It is a Pig Hat by Crochet Creations by Ashley. Will be going to my photographer friend as well.  Another newborn size.

And today's test, Barefoot Flower Sandals by Crochet Creations by Ashley.

Great patterns, and now maybe I should get to some of my own things I want to work on.  I have a whole bunch of photo props that I still have to make, and when Jay is here I never get as much done.

More Yarn - I must be crazy

Okay so I mentioned that I am a yarnaholic, and my latest yarn buying adventure might prove it.  Take a look at this amazing yarn I just got.

Now you have to understand, I am a sucker for fun yarn.  I don't crochet whole things with it but use it as accents... and buy it because it is so cute and I think I will make stuff with it... and then it sits in the bins because I honestly don't have enough projects to use the huge amounts that I buy.  And I have to be honest I actually felt a little bit guilty when I was driving home today.  But it was such nice yarn, and such good deals.  Now I better stop slacking (did I mention I haven't done anything, other than the pattern testing since I went to the water park with the kids???)  and get my butt in gear.  I need to come up with something creative to show at our Stitch & Bitch this weekend.

Now here is what I made last week for my photographer friend.  Hope she gets some use out of it all.  First it's a Hershey's Kisses hat I found here.  I just have to look for white ribbon to put on top because right now it just looks like poop, at least that's what my son told me when I showed it to him... gotta love the kids.

And just because I saw somewhere a baby with a big flower headband and thought it looked very cute, here is one I made :)

And I finally finished the pom pom hat I started a while back.

And here is my little one modelling it.

And I made the top for the mermaid tail that I made up before.

And finally here is the CAL hat I did a while back.  Need to get my niece to model it for me though.  I am not having a pretty day today.... super tired :(

But on a positive note, here is another pattern I tested this week.  It is a Watermelon Hat by Creations by Ashley and if I say so myself my girls looked very pretty in it.  I am testing another pattern for her today, it is a little piggy hat and will post pictures next time.... But here are some pictures of my beautiful girls in the watermelon hats.

I also found out about the Bernat Knit Sluchy Lace Beret KAL.  Now if you follow my blog you know that I still haven't finished the Bernat Waverly CAL (due to unforseen computer problems I'm sure my kids have created) and I don't normally knit. I can do some basic things but nothing fancy, but I'm sure they will have plenty of tutorials to help us along... and it does look very lovely.

Hope everyone is having a more motivated week than I am...
